As and IAN Board Member Historian and Curator of the Memory Lane Project, Dane is focused on capturing Intel histories from the perspective of the individuals that made the history and turning these “Historical Perspectives” into publishable results.

Dane spent 10 years at Intel being shaped by the talented individuals he had the privilege of working with. After several additional startups, he consults and advises technology startups. Dane is also a member of the Semiconductor Special Interest Group at the Computer History Museum where he works on Oral Histories of significant contributors to the semiconductor community.

Dane is educated as an engineer, he is a strategic and tactical thinker, planner and leader with a track record of recognizing promising opportunities, defining and managing products, establishing value propositions, and translating technology into viable business opportunities.

At Intel, 1972 through 1981, Dane served as Marketing Manager and then Technology Marketing Manager for the Microprocessor Division. He completed his tenure at MCO in Chandler Arizona managing the product development for second and third generation, 8051 and 8096 Micro Controllers.

Prior to Intel Dane’s career began at Beckman Instruments as practicing engineer, developing medical instrumentation with embedded computing resources when embedded meant minicomputer or custom processors, both designed with LSI devices and embedded software was non-existent. Post Intel he has made contributions in the industry, holding key positions with Cypress Semiconductor, MIPS Computer Systems, National Semiconductor and Cirrus Logic. Dane also was part of the team that started Chicory Systems, a semiconductor IP Company and Optichron a Semiconductor Company specializing in advanced base station RF linearization technology.

Dane’s successful career is founded on a BSEE from California Polytechnic University and a love for developing value and opportunities in the application of new technology. He met his wife at Intel, is the father of three adult children, grandfather of five and in his spare time, loves biking, hiking and sailing. He is a dynamic and assertive leader and an executive who champions people, new ideas and rewards innovation.
